BIXEN / WELCOME HOUSE

Who are they? And why are we supporting them?

Welcome House is a volunteer-driven center in Copenhagen where refugees from around the world come together. The purpose of Welcome House is to engage both users and volunteers in activities that promote integration. At its core, BIXEN operates as a thrift shop where everything is free, providing refugees with essential items such as clothing, small furniture, and other necessities to help them start a new life in Denmark.

Our mission at H2O is to deliver high-quality products that can be reused. To support this, we ensure that any clothing with minor, non-repairable flaws that can't be returned to the original customer gets a second chance. Sometimes, this involves transforming the items into something new. This is why we have partnered with BIXEN/Welcome House. Through their work supporting refugees who may not have the means to buy a new wardrobe, we can help by donating our items to their shop.

When deciding whether a product should be upcycled, repaired, or donated, we assess the flaw. Minor issues, such as a stitch in an embroidered logo or a button that has ripped the fabric, are things we can't repair, but the items can still be used. In our efforts to reduce textile waste, we want our products that are still wearable to be re-loved and enjoy a long life.

FANØ VESTERLAND

A few years ago, our CEO, Christian Trads, visited Gaarden Fanø Vesterland and was inspired by their dedication. We share their commitment to sustainability, quality, and innovation. As our products are made from organic cotton, we are proud to be part of a more sustainable approach in our production.

At Fanø Vesterland, the focus is on people, delicious food, and music. Each year, this creates a special atmosphere. Fanø Vesterland is driven by a team of three employees and more than 200 volunteers, all of whom contribute to the passion and spirit of Vesterland.

Since 2021, we have proudly partnered with Fanø Vesterland. Our collaboration is rooted in shared values—commitment to quality, a love for Fanø, and the creation of unique experiences.

At H2O, we share this passion for creating something special. Our partnership with Fanø Vesterland goes beyond clothing—it’s about community. We believe our clothes represent unity and involvement, values that both H2O Sportswear and Fanø Vesterland strive for.

We value our partnership with Fanø Vesterland and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the years ahead.

“Together with Fanø Vesterland we do not only make clothes – we create memories, a community and a real connection to Fanø and its unique spirit.” – CEO, Christian Trads

SPOT FESTIVAL

Our Journey With SPOT Festival: From Leftover to Center Stage – A “Deadstock” Focus

SPOT Festival is a music festival in Aarhus, Denmark, that showcases a diverse mix of upcoming and established Scandinavian artists. The festival highlights the latest trends in music while allowing visitors to experience the vibrant heart of Aarhus, with events taking place across multiple locations in the city center.

Since 2018, our partnership with SPOT Festival has been a shared success story, transforming unused fabric into the unique attire worn by the SPOT Festival crew. Together with Ekin Tekstil, we've created clothing that not only stands out but also carries meaningful values.

As SPOT Festival approaches its 30th anniversary in 2025, we're proud of our journey from spare materials to the spotlight. This collaboration is about more than just clothes; it’s about rethinking materials and making a difference in how we celebrate music and culture.

Imagine the festival scene where each colour reflects our past and future collections. This not only enhances the festival's visual appeal but also tells a story of creativity and connection. It's about celebrating the music, the people, and the moments that bring us together.

DET KÆRLIGE MÅLTID

Det Kærlige Måltid is a non-profit organization that supports families affected by life-threatening illness or trauma through the provision of nourishing meals. Since January 2019, they have been delivering meals to families in Aarhus. Over the past few years, they have expanded their reach, and in 2021, they began delivering meals in Aalborg and Odense as well. All meals are prepared and delivered by volunteers, who work together to ensure that families can focus on what truly matters—sharing a meal and spending time together.

At H2O, we are proud to support this initiative and contribute in any way we can. Through our partnership with Det Kærlige Måltid, we have been able to provide clothing for the volunteers who are a part of this compassionate community.
